Clint Townson, Ph.D.
Associate Jury Consultant
Clint’s background in the fields of communication and trial consulting prepared him well for his position as jury consultant at The Focal Point. As an expert in the field of communication, he knows how to deliver crisp, effective courtroom messages. His work as a university instructor enabled him to develop an adaptive instructional style, which he now uses when he prepares different types of witnesses for trial. During his training as a trial consultant, Clint became skilled at performing social media research on jurors and evaluating mock trial data.
Clint consulted on two separate cases involving police brutality, assisting in the representation of the state against allegations of wrongful death. He worked on a federal corruption case in which convictions were secured for executives of local companies who had bribed officials so as to avoid the potential costs associated with a Superfund cleanup. He holds a PhD in communication from Michigan State University.
A sports junkie, Clint is always up for playing or watching sports—his favorites include lacrosse, basketball, beach volleyball, frisbee, and golf. He is a third generation Spartan, so don’t expect him to back any college teams other than those at MSU. Clint also has a passion for craft beer, which developed during his short stint as a brewery worker during college. When Clint is watching sports and drinking beer, good buddy and rescue cat Sebastian McChesterson,(street name “Seabass”) is often by his side.
